Finishing Up The Pyrography Work On The Jewelry Rack

Jewelry Rack Wood Burning

In this picture I was finishing up the pyrography work of woodburning palm trees on a jewelry rack. I was decorating a coat rack (used as a jewelry rack), which is where I now hang my necklaces. Woodburning designs on a wood piece is a creative way to decorate it, and economical!

Woodburning Trees On A Box

Pyrographic Palm Tree: Part 1
I am drawing an outline of palm trees I am going to woodburn on a box.  This technique is known as pyrography, and thus I am decorating the wood box with pyrographic palm trees.

Drawing A Palm Tree On A Wood Box

Here I am beginning to draw the palm tree.

Here I am adding more detail to the sketch of the palm tree.

In this phase of the sketch I am wrapping the palm tree sketch around the corners of the box so it will look 3-D when I woodburn the design.

I am continuing to add detail to the palm tree drawing on the front of the box.

Here I am drawing the palm tree fronds on the back of the box. I will continue to draw the palm tree outline on all sides of the box in preparation for woodburning, which is how I will create the pyrographic palm tree.

The tree I am drawing on this side of the box is not a palm tree, but it will look elegant woodburned on the box along with the palm tree.

Here is the palm tree I am drawing on the top of the box, which is basically just a guideline for woodburning.

Now I have finished wood burning the solitary palm frond on the back of the box, and I am beginning to etch the rest of the tree onto the top.

In the picture above I continue the pyrography work of adding the details of each palm frond. Just a little bit more to go on this particular palm tree.

Today I have finished woodburning the palm tree on the top of my box, and now I am ready to start designing the next tree.

Woodburning A Tree On A Box

I recently finished woodburning a palm tree on the back and the top of the wood box, and now I am beginning to woodburn on a tree with small leaves on the front of it.  I do not know the name of this tree, but I am intrigued with its beautiful and unique foliage.  In the spring this tree gets red flowers on it.

Here I am beginning to woodburn the trunk and the leaves on the tree.

In the picture above I am over half way done with the pyrography work on the tree.

I finished woodburning the tree with the small leaves. It looks quite nice on the front of the box.

Below is a video documenting what the completed pyrographic trees look like on the box.  Pyrography is a creative way to decorate wood pieces such as boxes and picture frames.
