Today’s post is e is for easel. One way to save money on art supplies is to purchase an easel at a second hand store, like the small one I show off in this video. I have also purchased new packages of colored pencils and acrylic paint sets at thrift stores, so you never know what you might find at yours.

Scrap Booking Your Art Work
Here I decided to start scrapbooking some of my art work in a book I purchased from the second hand store. This is a great way to store, and appreciate my art print-outs at a future date.
Prepping The Cat Drawing
Right now money is tight and I cannot afford to buy a large picture frame for the Bobby cat drawing, but you can see how I prep my cat. First, I used scissors to cut the cat picture out of the brown paper bag. Next, I set down newspaper to protect the table while I painted mod podge over the cat drawing. The purpose of painting the mod podge over the cat drawing was to give it a shiny luster and brush strokes that make it look like a painting.
Beautiful Palm Flowers
As you know I love to photograph and draw palm trees, so I could not help but be mesmorized by this beautiful palm flower. Take a cell camera or a camera around with you, so that you can snap beautiful pictures when you see them. You never know which pictures might be inspiration for paintings and drawing later on, especially when it is hard to think of what to sketch. I love how the palm looks as though it is being crowned with the beautiful white flowers on top. In the back ground you can see a glimpse of the San Bernardino mountains, so this is a very special picture to me indeed. I love clear days when I can see all the beautiful details and shadows on my mountain. The later afternoons are alluring because the shadows are more exaggerated, and it just makes me want to grab a sketch pad. Happy snapping and drawing, as both of these activities can help you feel much more centered!
