Here the under colors of the morning glory have been painted on the flower.

Blue and red paint were used to paint over the under colored painted on the morning glory, which created the variation of shades and colors that is found when you see these flowers in person.

The vines, leaves, and the trunk of the tree are now painted in.  The top colors of the morning glory flower were painted in with light blue and white paints.
